Smart Flow Shroud
The concept behind the Smartflow Shroud is fundamentally different from other shrouds that have been on the market. Most shrouds work as an engine dress-up piece with the capability of trapping the intake air from escaping, but those have nothing to do with increasing the air flow into the air intake system.
The SmartFlow Shroud was designed to improve the air induction efficiency, with a very clear goal: Enlarge the air intake channel, and catch more fresh and cool air when the car is moving.
If you are looking for an efficient way to improve your intake system, but don’t want to cut extra holes on your front bumper to direct more air into the intake, Smart Flow Shroud is a good way to do it without compromising the look of your car.
If you already have an upgraded intake system, the Smartflow Shroud will magnify the improvement of your mods.
There is no conflict between the Smart Flow Shroud and the shrouds from other manufacturers. For example, you already have a Perrin shroud, you won’t have any issues installing the Smartflow Shroud in addition.
The two different shrouds can actually work together, while the Smartflow Shroud helps to get more air into the intake, and the Perrin(or other) shroud would trap and push that air into the air inlet duct.
If you are running just with the Smartflow Shroud, no need to worry about trapping and guiding the air into the air inlet duct. SUBARU has already made something similar right under the hood. There is a stiff rubber flap attached under the hood of WRX/STI, and the purpose of that piece is to block and trap the intake air for the air inlet duct.
Yes, if you already have shrouds from company like Perrin, COBB, or GrimmSpeed, you can still install the Smartflow Shroud without any issue, and the two kinds of shrouds could work together without any conflict.
No, the Smartflow Shroud will not interfere with the installation of an aftermarket Radiator. We’ve actually tested it with every popular radiator on the market, and all of them cleared!
After months of engineering and designing process, we finalized the Smartflow Shroud with a unique 3-piece design.
The bottom piece, called “Ram Air Tray” helps to catch and direct maximum air flow when the car is moving forward.
The center big piece, called “Upper Shroud” has the enlarged entrance for air flow, and helps to direct more air into the air inlet duct.
The small piece on top, called “Shroud Flange” works in two ways. First one is to prevent the air from escaping from the air inlet duct. Second one is to direct some of the intake air to blow on the upper coolant hose. It’s been proven that it helps to lower the coolant temp while driving.
In order to keep the integrity of the whole designing concept, we only sell the Smartflow Shroud as a full kit.
Smartflow Shroud does not require a tune, but we highly recommend one after installation if you have a chance. It’s similar to a cold air intake, since there’s a noticeable change in the air flow, a tune would maximize the improvement you get from the Smartflow Shroud. So, if you have a plan to get a tune, you could definitely put the Smartflow Shroud on the mods list.
In an actual dyno test with the Smartflow Shroud on a fully stock STI, a tune with stock boost, we see more than a 30hps difference on the wheels before/after.
The short answer is, not having a tune is fine but getting a tune after installing the Smartflow Shroud will definitely maximize your investment.
No, the safety of the engine is our top priority when designing our product. The Smartflow Shroud will help you get more air into the intake system, but won't accumulate any water. The distance between the main Ram Air Tray and the inlet duct won't allow water to travel up the flow system and it’s been tested in different weather conditions, on both race cars and street cars.
The Smartflow Shroud is a product backed with months of engineering, testing and design refinement. In order to make it fit precisely on the car, we take no compromise in our raw materials, production standards, and finishing details.
To create the unique and slick look, the Smartflow Shroud is produced in 3D and laser cut. Then more machining, bending, welding and grinding has to be done.
In order to make it durable and light, we use a premium thick grade aluminum, which stands up to the force of the intake air pressure, as well as the harsh environment under the hood.
To make the Smartflow shroud stand out and hold up to all the additional conditions, we use a premium coating with multiple processes to make the finish strong and durable.

No, it only fits on 2015+ WRX/STI and Levorg (Oversea market)
